Ah, so you are a new member of the ds106 community? Well get ready for one hell of a ride! This course contains a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. However, those blood, sweat, and tears are accompanied with many personal accomplishments and newly learned abilities. If you were anything like me when I first joined this class, you’re more than likely scared out of your mind right now due to the intimidating email from Professor Bond about the workload and time commitment. Well, I’m here to assure you he is not wrong, but I am also here to assure you that you can do it. I working on my final project for the course as we speak, and if I was able to work full-time and have a full school-load and be able to complete this course, than anyone can do it! My biggest bit of advice I can give you is to time manage properly. Do not wait until the last minute to do things. If you can manage your time well, then you’ll come out of this course with a lot of personal gain. I learned how to use many hard and confusing media editing programs through this course. Those programs are Audacity and Gimp. Learning both of these programs helped me immensely in not only this course, but many of my other ones this semester and I plan on to continue to use them. So head up, you got this!
