Assignment Bank 1 (Week Eleven):

Create Lyric Video

For this assignment, I was instructed to create a lyric video. I decided to use this assignment bank task and link it back to Jester. See how I made this connection and my finished product below:

So to begin, I had to figure out a way to make my lyric video relate to Jester in one way or another. I figured the best way I could secure a solid connection would be to pick out an accurate song that reflected a villain. Therefore, I chose to create my lyric video on the song “Sucker For Pain” by Lil Wayne, Ty Dolla $ign, Imagine Dragons, and Wiz Khalifa. To further strengthen the bond between the lyrics and Jester, I added the picture I’ve used all semester long that has represented Jester’s creepy smile. Here is the step-by-step process of my creation:

  1. I downloaded Sucker For Pain from youtube and converted it into a mp3, opened imovie, and imported the file to my media on the application.
  2. Then, I googled the lyrics to the song. I ended up using the lyrics Google Music had to offer. They were the most accurate.
  3. Next came the fun part, I had to make sure all of the words showed up perfectly on the screen to match the tempo of the song. This was the most time-consuming and frustrating part.
  4. After a quick run through to make sure everything ran smoothly, I was pleased with the outcome and uploaded it to youtube!

Yeah, timing is definitely the hard part. I’m curious about what you went through to make it work. Sometimes I can see beat patterns in the audio track, and place imagery to fit. I’ve never tried that for a full lyric video though.
